If you Google the “top neighborhoods in Latin America” these days, you’ll find articles from the usual suspects — Culture Trip, Nomad List, etc. — all spewing similar best barrios in LatAm.

Usually these areas are up-and-coming, bohemian spots that backpackers, hippies, and white women feel “cultured” in.

Personally…

I’ve found most of these barrios blow.

Anyone recommending Barranco over Miraflores in Lima, Peru is a pole-smoking hippie — and you should completely and utterly ignore their advices.

Especially if you’re a strapping, handsome red-blooded male looking to base up in the “vortex zone” of any city and enjoy the local cuisine.

And by cuisine, yes, I is talking ‘bout dating and mating, ser — not trying your 47th type of ceviche this month.

So with this in mind…

I will do me best at breaking down the best neighborhoods in Latin America for men who prefer efficiency, excellence, and make amor — not bohemian bullshit.

We will place things like:

  • Walkability

  • Foot Traffic

  • Date Bars

  • Nightlife

  • Restaurants

  • Gyms

  • BJJ // MMA // Boxing Gyms

Of the utmost importance — while not giving a flying fuck if there’s graffiti sprayed all over the barrio or not.

Plus, these barrios are pretty safe.

If this is the type of tings’ you prefer and shit, keep on reading this guide. If not, head over to Lonely Planet or some shit.
